This policy applies to translation projects, certified translations, interpretation sessions and review work arranged through LingVata, operated by M & J Tech Suits LLC, 4938 S 24th St., Omaha, Nebraska 68107, United States. Refunds are returned through the original payment method.

1. Before a professional is assigned

If you cancel before a professional is assigned, or before an interpretation session is confirmed, the payment is refunded in full, less any non-recoverable processing fee charged by the payment provider.

2. Translation work already started

If you cancel after work has started, the professional is paid for the portion completed, the platform commission applies to that portion, and the remainder is refunded. The professional will provide a short account of the work completed. If the professional has delivered the full job, it is treated as delivered and the quality rules below apply.

3. Interpretation cancellations

More than 24 hours before the session: full refund, less processing fees.
Within 24 hours of the session: up to 50% may be retained to compensate the interpreter for reserved time.
Interpreter no-show or technical failure on the interpreter's side: full refund, or a replacement session at no additional cost.
Customer no-show: the session may be charged in full. If the interpreter can still deliver part of the session within the booked time, charges may be reduced accordingly.
Sessions ended early by the customer: charged for the time booked, unless the interpreter agrees otherwise in writing.

4. Quality-based refunds

If delivered work does not match the agreed scope, request a revision first and describe the specific non-conformity. If the issue is not resolved, open a dispute in the project workspace within 7 days of delivery. LingVata may review the brief, the delivered files and the message history, and may ask the professional to revise, may release the payment, or may issue a partial or full refund. Disputes raised after the window may still be reviewed where the law requires it.

5. Non-refundable situations

Work already delivered and accepted, where the delivery matches the agreed scope.
A change of mind about style, tone or terminology that was already agreed in the brief.
Delays or rejections caused by a third party, such as a court, government body, university or employer declining a certified translation.
Requests for a service the quotation did not include, such as notarisation or legalisation, which we do not provide.
Fees charged by the payment provider that cannot be recovered.

6. How and when refunds are paid

Approved refunds are submitted to the payment provider within 5 business days of the decision. The time for the money to appear depends on the provider and your bank, typically 5 to 10 business days and sometimes longer for international cards. We cannot refund more than the amount actually captured for the transaction, and we cannot refund to a different payment method.

7. Chargebacks

If you believe a charge is wrong, contact us first at privacy@lingvata.com. Raising a chargeback with your bank instead of using the in-platform process may pause the project and suspend the account while the matter is investigated. If a chargeback is decided in your favour, any related platform credit or refund already issued may be adjusted.

8. Professional-side cancellations

If a professional cancels after accepting a job, you receive a full refund, or, if you prefer and a replacement is available, a reassignment at the same price. Repeated professional cancellations may lead to review of the professional's listing and, where warranted, suspension.

9. Statutory rights

Nothing in this policy limits a right you have under mandatory consumer law in your country of residence, including any right of withdrawal that applies to digital services you have not yet started to receive.
