This policy sets out how long M & J Tech Suits LLC, operator of LingVata, keeps each category of data. Periods run from the event described, unless the law requires a longer period or data must be preserved for an open dispute, investigation or legal claim.
1. Account data
Kept while your account is active and for 90 days after closure, so that the account can be recovered and open matters resolved, then deleted or anonymised.
2. Project and booking documents
Source and delivered files are kept while the job is active and for 12 months after completion, so that revisions, disputes and refunds can be handled, then deleted. You may delete your own uploads earlier from the project page, unless they are needed for an open dispute.
3. Messages
Project and booking messages are kept with the related record for the same period, then deleted. Support tickets are kept for 24 months after resolution.
4. Financial records
Payment, commission, payout, refund and invoice records are kept for the period required by tax and accounting law in the applicable jurisdiction, currently 7 years, even after account closure, and are linked to a pseudonymised identifier where possible.
5. Verification records
Identity and qualification documents are kept while the professional is active and for 24 months after deactivation, to support re-verification and legal defence, then deleted.
6. Legal acceptance records
Records of which document version you accepted, when and by what method are kept for as long as needed to demonstrate compliance, and are never overwritten when a document is updated.
7. Audit and security logs
Access and security logs are kept for 12 months, or longer where an investigation is open.
8. Marketing preferences
Your marketing consent or opt-out is kept for as long as we send marketing, and for a reasonable period afterwards, so that we can honour your choice.
9. Deletion requests
You can request deletion of your account and data from Account settings, or by writing to privacy@lingvata.com. We delete or anonymise the data within 30 days, except for records we must keep by law and data needed for an open dispute or legal claim. Deleting your account ends access to projects in progress; complete or hand over active work first.
10. Backups
Encrypted backups are kept on a rolling cycle of up to 35 days. Data deleted from the live system is removed from backups as the cycle expires.
