Professional Code of Conduct

Version 2.0 · Effective Nov 5, 2026 · Status published

Effective date: 5 November 2026 · Version 2.0

LingVata is operated by M & J Tech Suits LLC, 4938 S 24th St., Omaha, Nebraska 68107, United States. Every translator, interpreter and reviewer on the Platform agrees to this Code. A breach may lead to a warning, removal of the listing, suspension or termination, and a serious breach may be reported to the relevant authority.

1. Accuracy and integrity

Translate and interpret faithfully. Do not add, omit, soften or alter meaning. Disclose when a document is illegible, incomplete, or outside your competence, and decline rather than guess.

2. Competence

Accept only work within your language pairs, specializations and experience. Declining a job is always acceptable; a poor delivery is not.

3. Confidentiality

Treat all customer material as confidential, indefinitely. Do not reuse, publish or discuss it. Use only the approved project workspace to exchange files, and delete material from your own devices when the job and retention period end.

4. Impartiality in interpretation

Interpret everything that is said, without advice, summary or opinion. Disclose any conflict of interest. Do not accept side instructions from one participant or act as an advocate for either party.

5. Deadlines

Commit only to deadlines you can meet. Report a risk of delay as soon as it appears, not after the deadline has passed.

6. Communication

Respond to customer and platform messages within one business day during an active job. Keep communication inside the Platform, and do not ask a customer to move to a private channel.

7. No off-platform payment

Do not solicit or accept payment outside LingVata for work introduced by the Platform, and do not offer a discount for paying directly.

8. Honest profiles

Keep your biography, qualifications, certifications, rates and availability accurate and current. Do not claim credentials, sworn status, accreditation or a specialization you do not hold.

9. Respect

Treat customers, colleagues and staff professionally. Harassment, discrimination, threats and abusive conduct lead to suspension.

10. No misrepresentation of the Platform

Do not state or imply that you are an employee or representative of LingVata, and do not use the LingVata name or logo in a way that suggests endorsement of an unrelated service.

11. Legal and ethical limits

Do not accept work that is unlawful, that you suspect is intended to defraud a third party, or that requires you to certify something you have not verified. Do not translate material you are not authorised to handle.

12. Reporting a concern

Report a breach by another user to privacy@lingvata.com with the project reference. Reports are treated confidentially.
